GIRLS IN JUNIORS

Girls' racing is becoming more popular especially in in the Junior categories. The girls in Juniors that compete in the Victorian Country Series travel all the way from Geelong, Mt Gambier, South West and Eastern Lions.

I took the chance to ask Stephanie Munn #4, Brittany Hall #7, Morgan #58 and Rory Purdie #58 a few questions about themselves in juniors.

All of the girls compete in Junior National Light class with Stephanie also racing in Junior Clubman.

They were all introduced somehow into karting by their dad, brother or their brother's friends.

They all seem to enjoy racing against the boys because of the competitiveness and the girls like to prove that they can beat boys.  Morgan went further by saying that their are "cool" and "fast".

Morgan and Rory both had a big bingle at Ballarat last year.  Morgan felt ok after the incident, but Rory felt the opposite as hers was a "head on".

The biggest bingle Brittany was in was at the Top Gun and as a result she felt pretty sore.

Stephanie said her biggest incident happened at Horsham and she also didn't feel too good afterwards.

Some karters have races that stand out from the rest. Stephanie said her most memoriable race was at Ballarat when she came 2nd and Morgan's was also at Ballarat. Brittany said her most memorable race was at the Central City Titles.

All of them have a different favourite track. Brittany said hers is Cobden (S.W.K.C) and Rory said hers would have to be Swan Hill.  Puckapunyal (E.L.K.C) is Morgan's favourite track and Stephanie's is Ballarat.
